  • How do you handle complaints and grievances?
MindScience Collective is fully committed to conducting all activities in accordance with the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists. MindScience Collective will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of the members of the continuing education committee. While MindScience Collective goes to great lengths to assure fair treatment for all participants and attempts to anticipate problems, there will be occasional issues which require intervention and/or action. This procedural description serves as a guideline for handling such grievances. All grievances should be submitted in writing to the general email of MindScience Collective (mindsciencecollective@gmail.com). If the person submitting the grievance would like to exclude particular individuals from reviewing the grievance, please indicate the individual or course in the title line of the email to ensure initial review by a different member of MindScience Collective. Individuals who do not feel comfortable submitting a grievance by email may also contact the CE Program Administrator or another member of the CE subcommittee at the addresses below. If the grievance concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker, or the style of presentation, a member of the CE committee will pass on the comments to the speaker, assuring the confidentiality of the grieved individual. All attempts will be made to help the presenter address the source of the grievance and any future offerings by this speaker will be reviewed specifically for responsiveness to this feedback. Significant concerns about a course may result in removal of the course from the website offerings until the concerns are addressed. If the grievance concerns a course offering, its content, level of presentation, accessibility, or the technology through which the course was offered, the CE program administrator will bring the concerns to the CE committee and will serve as final arbitrator. If the participant requests action, MindScience Collective will provide credit to another course or provide a partial or full refund of the course fee, as appropriate to the circumstances. Any member of the CE committee who is named as part of a grievance will be recused from disposition of that grievance. To request a written copy of these grievance procedures, please email MindScienceCollective@gmail.com.
